8. Parental Bereavement Leave
Parental Bereavement Leave was introduced in April 2020. It allows an employee to take time off work following the loss of a child (under 18 years of age), or parents who suffer a stillborn after 24 weeks of pregnancy.
An employee will be eligible for Parental Bereavement Leave if they are the:
parent of a child who has passed away; or partner of the child's parent, where they live in an enduring family relationship with the child who has passed away and their parent; or "parent in fact" of a child who has passed away, which means that, for a continuous period of at least four weeks before the child died, they have been living with the child and had "day-to-day responsibility" for...
